The Atlantic bluefin tuna is the most prized fish in the ocean.  Traditionally, bluefin tuna harvested off the East Coast of Canada have been sold in Japan, mostly auctioned, at the famous Toyosu Market in Tokyo.

 

Often overlooked, the bluefin market in Canada is significant and growing.  Cities such as Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto, with their increasing number of Japanese style sushi restaurants, are providing a domestic demand for the fish.
